Myofascial Release
Fascia is composed of collagen and fibrous connective tissue. It’s main role is to cover, separate, protect and support the muscles and organs of the human body.
These membranous structure facilitate the movement of muscles over each other. The fascia create links between structures and different regions of the body as they are present from head to toe and from deep to superficial surfaces of the body.
In a healthy individual, fascia’s flexible and has the ability to move and stretch easily.
However, repetitive movements, poor posture and chronic pain causes fascia to loose its mobility, which then causes pain, tension and even headaches in the case of cervical tensions.
At City Center Massage Therapy we use a variety of Massage Therapy techniques to treat the fascia.
